Horrors of the Supercar tuning world pt1…

Posted 1 year ago in Miscellaneous News

Money cannot buy taste. A phrase no better demonstrated on the streets by those with less of the latter, and more of the former…

Many people appreciate the lengths car designers go to, to create a stunning supercar with just the right wheels, colours etc. Others clearly don’t, and believe that they can improve on these designs.

Exhibit 1: The Pink Maserati Cabrio

A brand new car, almost too beautiful for words. Unutterably gorgeous, with smooth flowing lines and a ppowerful V8 up front. Perfect for cruising down to the south of France. Alternatively, you could turn it into a bright pink Barbie car, and give Pininfarina nightmares.

Exhibit 2: ‘Stealth Fighter 458′

The Ferrari 458 Italia – surely one of the best looking new cars in many years. Amazing lines, taught and purposeful. So what to do with your 458 when you have it? Wel, obviously the answer to that for one person, is to paint it matte black, make it look like it has been riveted together, and put stupid stickers all over it…

Exhibit 3: The cream of the crop – the Gemballa MIG-U1 Enzo

It takes a pretty special individual to look at their Ferrari Enzo and think “yep, what this really needs is a tacky bodykit”. But if you take your Enzo down to Gemballa (if they’re still trading – doubtful currently) they will do just that. The one positive thing they do is up the power to 700bhp, but then they counteract that by adding one of the most hideous bodykits ever created to the cool lines of the Enzo. They’ll also charge you a small fortune for the priveledge. But you can judge for yourself:

More to come in pt2…

These cars do have a tendency to polarise opinion though, so feel free to comment, start the debate!
